First General Meeting of the Association of Pasteur families

The first Ordinary General Meeting of the Association of Pasteur families took place in Geneva on 2nd June 2001. Other activities were planned for that day too and all took take place within the bounds of the old town.

The programme was as follows :

09:30 – 10:00 – Welcome drink at the Café La Clémence, place du Bourg de Four.

10:00 – 12:00 – Guided tour of the Geneva State Archives with Mr. Roger Rosset, Director of the Archives.

12:00 – 14:00 – General Meeting and lunch on the first floor of the Les Armures restaurant. On the menu in accordance with our constitution, a report on the moral and financial state of the Association was given by the vice-president and its present and future aims were widely debated.

15:00 – 17:00 – A meeting-debate on the theme The Pasteur families in Switzerland from the 15th century to today, organised jointly by the Association of Pasteur families and the Vaudois Genealogical Circle, took place at the Maison de quartier de la Vieille-Ville. The meeting was led by two of our members: Georges Curtet, the author of a book on Collonge-Bellerive (the cradle of the Geneva Pasteurs) and a specialist on the Geneva branch of the Pasteurs and Henry Pasteur, a descendant of the Vaudois branch of the Pasteurs which has provided 7 generations of public executioners. About 30 participants attended the meeting.
