After their death, the craters remained as if after an atomic bomb. Every death, even from natural causes, causes such an explosion and the beginning of an "appearance" (this is how these creatures are defined in the Polish translation). That's why an incinerator was created, where the corpses of the dead are cremated in furnaces - far from underground cities. For the same reason, society has been divided into dozens of tiny groups that have no contact with each other, and the courier profession is highly respected. This is one of the few connections between human islands. When we start the game, Sam's old clients, the Bridges organization, demand Sam. We know we've worked for them before, but why did our paths diverge? In the end, we agree with their proposal - we should move from the east coast of America to the west, launching a network in subsequent cities that will re-unite the destroyed society and allow the country to rebuild.
